EKVALIS had three representatives on the Training Course: “Let's talk, how we talk about Gender" in Zakopane, Poland. In this project participated 23 young people from countries ( Portugal, Romania, Lithuania, Greece, North Macedonia, Turkey, Bulgaria and Poland). During this training the participants had a chance to practice intercultural learning and dialogue, and learn different ways to prevent gender discrimination. They also talked about the differences between gender and sex and they learned the techniques of the Forum Theatre.
The project was organized with many different activities such as: Creating space for discussion and exploration about gender equality and inequality using different non-formal forms: drama activities, image and movement theatre, improvisation theatre activities, sharing stories and experience in the topic of gender issues, differences equality/inequality, Elements of Forum Theatre: creating short scenes, learning Joker’s role, creating Forum plays scenarios and practicing them in safe environment of our working group, Defining terms such "gender”, “gender inequality” and "gender ideology" with work in groups and help from the trainers, Talking with Polish experts in the field of gender and Finding a way to break stereotypes and prejudices. In their free time, the participants had a chance to hang out together and learn a lot about the other countries regarding their culture and traditions while making many new friendships.
The Macedonian team implemented their own workshop after their return in North Macedonia. The purpose of the workshop was for them to transfer the knowledge which they gained on the exchange. The Training Course: “Let's talk, how we talk about about Gender” was financially supported by the Erasmus + program.
