Open Call for Participants : “Education, ethnocentrism and segregation” – meeting of experts in peace education

Association for Educational Development - Ekvalis and forumZFD office in Macedonia are opening a call for participants at the “Education, ethnocentrism and segregation” – meeting of experts in peace education. The aim of the meeting is to gather 20 peace education experts from Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina and discuss: how peace education is implemented in Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; to what extent it challenges social fragmentation/segregation, ethnocentricity and promotes the knowledge, skills and attitudes that help people of different age either to prevent the occurrence of conflict, resolve conflicts peacefully, or create social conditions conducive to peace. The discussions will focusing on: what are the current programs and plans, what educational resources and methodologies are available and used; challenges faced by peace education experts, good practices they have experiences etc. In addition to that, the experts will have a chance to map ways and prepare guidelines for intensifying communication between different peace education experts and for promoting and improving efforts for challenging ethnocentricity and segregation through peace education. When and where: The meeting will take place at Hotel Manastir, Berovo, Macedonia, from 25th -27th of September 2019.
