Call for participants: “Education, ethnocentrism and segregation” – meeting of experts in peace education

Association for Educational Development  Ekvalis and forumZFD office in Macedonia are opening a call for participants at the  “Education, ethnocentrism and segregation” – meeting of experts in peace education The aim of the meeting: is to gather 20  experts in peace education and  discuss: how peace education is implemented in Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; to what extent it challenges social fragmentation/segregation, ethnocentricity, and promotes the knowledge, skills and attitudes that help people of different age either to prevent the occurrence of conflict, resolve conflicts peacefully, or create social conditions conducive to peace, focusing on: what are the current programs and plans, what educational resources and methodologies are available and used; challenges they face, good practices they have experiences etc. In addition to that, the participants will have a chance to map ways and prepare guidelines for intensifying communication between different peace educators and for promoting and improving efforts for challenging ethnocentricity and segregation through peace education. Profile of participants::

• Peace educators: teachers, CSOs representatives and non-formal educators
• Representatives of state educational institutions, Bureau of development of education etc.
• Experience with different peace education approaches, programs, methodologies and educational resources that challenge ethnocentricity and segregation in different context

  When and where: The meeting will take place at Hotel Manastir, Berovo, Macedonia, from 25^th -27^th of September 2019. All costs for your participation will be covered by the organizers.
